About the job Electrical Process Design Engineer | Iskandar Puteri
Company Background:
A leading manufacturer of prefabricated modular data center solutions, specialize in the data center and power systems industry. With R&D facilities in Shanghai and high-end manufacturing plants in Shanghai and Malaysia, it delivers innovative solutions for hyperscale data center projects globally. The company is located in Johor Bahru, and the actual working location is subject to the project.
Job Responsibilities:
1. System Integration Design
- Responsible for the overall integrated design of prefabricated power distribution containers (low/medium voltage) and diesel generator containers in data centers, ensuring high power supply reliability (Tier III/IV).
- Design seamless switching (<10ms) of diesel generator paralleling, ATS switching, and UPS/HVDC interlocking under 2N/DR/RR architectures.
- Optimize electrical interfaces, communication protocols, and thermal layout between diesel generator and distribution containers to ensure system compatibility.
2. Electrical & Structural Design
- Complete primary/secondary system diagrams, 3D container layouts (BIM), cable routing, and grounding system design.
- Perform calculations for short-circuit current, harmonic suppression, and thermal-dynamic stability to ensure component selection (circuit breakers, busbars, generators) meets extreme load conditions.
- Design structures resistant to earthquakes (Level 8), typhoons (up to Level 14), and water ingress (IP55+), adapting to harsh environments.
3. Intelligent Monitoring & Energy Efficiency Optimization
- Integrate SCADA systems for real-time monitoring of generator status, fuel level, temperature, and emissions (Modbus TCP/SNMP).
- Design AI-based energy management features (load balancing, optimal generator operating range) to reduce PUE to 1.4.
4. Full Lifecycle Support
- Collaborate with supply chain, quality, production, and construction teams to complete prefabricated container production and site deployment.
- Participate in type testing (temperature rise, short-circuit withstand, black start testing) and produce test reports.
5. Scope of Work
- Design Tasks: Analyze client needs or design institute drawings, create detailed designs that meet functional requirements while reducing cost and improving efficiency without compromising quality or manufacturability.
- Supplier Evaluation: Technically assess new suppliers to ensure they can meet design requirements.
- Cross-Department Support: Ensure DFX analysis of drawings and BOMs supports supply chain, quality control, and production efficiency.
- Production Documentation: Prepare SOPs, MBOMs, DFMEA/PFMEA, and other supporting documentation.
- Process Improvement: Review and improve current manufacturing processes and technical transformation plans.
- Project Management: Responsible for controlling project scope, quality, and cost, while proactively mitigating risks.
- Other Tasks: Cooperate actively with additional assignments arranged by leadership.
Job Requirements:
