Sales Representative Candidate FAQ
1. What kind of sales experience do I need?
No formal sales background is required! We value passion for people, enthusiasm for outdoor cooking, and a drive to succeed. We provide full product training and sales support to help you thrive.
2. Is this role 100% commission-based?
Yes, this position is fully commission-based, meaning your income depends on your sales performance. Theres no cap on earningsyour effort directly determines your success. However, we will also provide you with warm leads, direct you to already identified key prospects, pay for events and trade shows for generating sales and pay for all travel and meals.
3. Do I have to work in a specific location?
Yes and no. You can work from anywherehome, on the road, or wherever you connect best with customers. We support flexible schedules and remote work. However, we do value being together and connected so we estimate we will be physically together as a full Team 5 full days per month.
4. Who will I be selling to?
Youll sell to three key audiences: individual consumers, retail dealers, and commercial clients like restaurants and event venues.
5. Will I have support or resources?
Absolutely! We provide comprehensive product training, marketing materials, and ongoing support from the team. You wont be on your own.
6. What does the application and hiring process look like?
Once you apply, we review your information and reach out to schedule a brief introductory call. If we move forward, there will be an interview to discuss your fit and goals. After that, well share next steps.
7. Can I demo the product before I start?
Yes! We encourage you to get hands-on experience with our grills to confidently share their unique features and benefits with customers.
8. What qualities do you look for in successful reps?
Successful reps are self-motivated, people-focused, and excited about building genuine relationshipsnot just making quick sales. A love for outdoor cooking and community is a big plus!
9. How often will I be paid?
Commissions are typically paid monthly, with details shared upon hiring.
Sales Compensation Plan
1. Commission Structure
- Base Commission Rate: 10% on all gross sales revenue generated with no discounts.
- Tiered Commission Boost: To reward top performers and incentivize growth:
- $0$10,000 monthly sales 10% commission
- $10,001$25,000 monthly sales 13% commission on amount above $10,000
- $25,001+ monthly sales 17% commission on amount above $25,000
These % dont apply to resellers who get a 35% discount. See below for dealer sales.
2. Bonus Incentives
- New Dealer Acquisition: $300 bonus for every new dealer account signed and onboarded.
- Quarterly Performance Bonus: Top 10% of sales reps by quarterly revenue share an additional bonus pool (e.g., $2,000 divided proportionally).
- Community Builder Award: Special $1,000 bonus quarterly for reps who exemplify company values by creating meaningful community events or client relationships, verified by manager.
3. Sales Volume & Activity Targets
Monthly activity suggestions:
- 80 customer reachouts / day in office.
- 5 days travel for events per month
- Submit weekly sales pipeline updates.
These are suggestions above however we will be flexible on how each salesperson thinks is best and most effective
4. Payment Terms
- Commissions are paid monthly, 15 days after month-end to allow for returns/refunds processing.
- Bonuses paid within 30 days after quarter-end.
5. Support & Resources
- Full product training and sales materials provided at no cost.
- Access to CRM tools for managing leads and sales pipeline.
- Marketing support for events and demos.
- Travel costs for events and trade shows.
6. Growth & Development Opportunities
- High performers may qualify for leadership roles, higher commission tiers, or salaried positions in the future.
- Regular sales workshops to sharpen skills and share best practices.
