Position Overview
HireNow Staffing is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded CPA firm to identify a Tax Manager who can step into a key leadership role within its growing tax practice.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys managing complex engagements, and is passionate about mentoring staff while maintaining technical excellence. The firm supports a sophisticated client base of closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.
This is a fully onsite role in Lincolnshire, IL, offering direct access to firm leadership and a long-term career track within a stable, relationship-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
As a Tax Manager, you will oversee the execution, quality, and delivery of the firms most complex tax engagements. Your work will include:

Reviewing advanced federal and multi-state tax returns, including:

Individual (1040)
-
C-Corporations (1120)
-
S-Corporations (1120-S)
-
Partnerships (1065)
-
Trusts and Estates (1041)
-

Leading tax planning and research initiatives for business owners, families, and fiduciary entities
-
Managing tax engagements end-to-end, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery
-
Serving as a trusted advisor to clients, providing thoughtful guidance and long-term planning strategies
-
Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication and high service standards
-
Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing work prepared by Tax Seniors and junior staff
-
Collaborating closely with firm Partners on complex tax matters, client structuring, and advisory work
-
Participating in client meetings and helping shape tax strategy based on evolving regulations
Required Qualifications (Must Be Met)
Candidates will only be considered if they meet the following core requirements:

6–10+ years of public accounting tax experience

Active CPA license (required)
-
Demonstrated expertise reviewing complex returns across multiple entity types
-
Strong tax research and planning capabilities
-
Experience with federal and multi-state taxation
-
Background supporting closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients

Stable career history with a clear pattern of long-term commitment and progression
-
Ability to lead engagements independently while maintaining strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)

Master's degree in Taxation (a plus, not required)

Experience managing and developing junior tax professionals
