Compensation: $290,000 – $320,000 base salary
Estimated Total Compensation: $314,000 – $464,000 annually (productivity-based)

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a large, mission-driven outpatient healthcare organization to identify a seasoned Physician Medical Director – Infectious Disease to lead and deliver high-quality outpatient care in the Greater Memphis area.

Position Overview
The Physician Medical Director will serve as a clinical leader within a fully staffed outpatient clinic, delivering direct patient care while supporting quality, compliance, and provider performance. The practice focuses on continuity of care, chronic disease management, and infectious disease treatment in an outpatient setting.
Family Medicine or Internal Medicine backgrounds with infectious disease expertise are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality outpatient medical care while meeting established productivity benchmarks

Maintain a patient load of approximately 14–18 patients per day
-
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic infectious diseases, including HIV and STIs
-
Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma, and hyperlipidemia
-
Oversee patient scheduling strategies to reduce no-shows and support clinic efficiency
-
Ensure accurate, timely documentation and E&M coding (same day or within 72 hours)

Review laboratory results, imaging, and consultant reports promptly

Process prescription renewals and patient communications within defined timelines

Collaborate closely with nursing staff, care coordinators, and administrative teams

Supervise and support mid-level providers (NPs/PAs), including chart review and clinical guidance

Participate in after-hours call rotation as assigned

Utilize protected administrative time (4 hours weekly) for leadership and oversight duties
-
Support quality initiatives, patient retention efforts, and reporting requirements
-
Maintain required certifications and licensure in good standing
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

MD or DO with an active, unrestricted state medical license

Valid DEA registration
-
Minimum 2 years of outpatient clinical experience

Infectious Disease clinical experience required

Comfortable managing 14–18 outpatient visits per day

CPR/BLS certification (current)
-
Willingness to obtain AAHIVM Certification within 18 months of hire

Demonstrated ability to work in a structured, productivity-based outpatient environment

Stable employment history
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)
Candidates with the following will be strongly prioritized:

Board Certification in Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine

Prior experience in a medical director, lead physician, or supervisory role

Background in outpatient HIV care and infectious disease population health

Experience supervising or mentoring NPs and PAs

Strong interest in long-term outpatient continuity of care

Comfort working within data-driven, quality-focused healthcare models

Experience improving patient retention, compliance, and clinic efficiency
