About the Job
Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on their mobile fitness games. They're a small, mission-driven team building a game that blends cozy monster collecting with daily walking and they're looking for a senior engineer who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
As a core team member, youll play a hands-on role in delivering features for their upcoming soft launch, ensuring the game is performant, stable, and delightful to play. You should be comfortable with live game systems, player-facing UX, and Unity development and willing to jump in where help is needed most.

What You'll Be Doing
- Build, optimize, and maintain core systems in Unity (C#) across client and server backend systems
- Contribute to key soft launch features including audio, encounter logic, and daily quests
- Collaborate closely with design, narrative, art, and production to bring features from spec to reality
- Write clear, modular, and performant code while proactively identifying edge cases and blockers
- Participate in (and help shape) our sprint planning and code review process
- Integrate with 3rd party services including PlayFab, Azure, and GitLab CI/CD
- Support smooth live operations by helping debug player issues and improve production workflows
- Work with FMOD to integrate dynamic interactive audio experiences and music
- Perform code reviews and be willing to pair and work with other team members regularly
Who You Need To Be
- Has shipped a commercial Unity game or major live feature end-to-end on mobile
- 3+ years professional experience using Unity (C#) in a production setting
- 5+ years total experience in software engineering or game development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first, fast-paced startup environment
- Able to own features end-to-end from scoping and planning to polish, testing, and delivery
Nice To Have
- Interest in fitness, or games with real-world impact
- Experience with Unity Addressables, UaaL, or mobile sensor APIs (e.g., step count, geolocation)
- Comfort navigating Figma, Jira, and Slack
- Familiarity with FMOD and integrating dynamic audio in Unity
- Previous work on a live service game or with DevOps/CI tools
- A curious mindset about emerging tech in gaming (AI, ML, etc.)
