About our Client

Our client is a pioneering "Native AI" enterprise operations startup focused on the emerging field of Workflow Intelligence. The company builds sophisticated AI-driven infrastructure that provides deep visibility into how work moves through an organization, enabling enterprises to optimize team time and automate complex processes. As a high-velocity, engineering-heavy team, they're scaling rapidly to solve non-trivial technical challenges—ranging from native macOS/Windows system integration to advanced ML and data platforms—seeking high-ownership "founding-level" talent who thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize clean architecture and mission-critical execution.

About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will build the core learning systems that power predictive capabilities. Youll work hands-on with real-world behavioral and workflow datasets—training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and operationalizing models that surface key insights into how teams operate. This is a foundational role that spans experimentation through production deployment, collaborating closely with engineers, product teams, and the founder.

What You'll Do

  • Train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models on workflow, behavioral, and productivity data
  • Build predictive models for task outcomes, throughput, productivity trends, capacity forecasting, and workflow optimization
  • Fine-tune foundation models for domain-specific classification, embedding, and similarity tasks
  • Design and maintain feature pipelines, training loops, and evaluation frameworks
  • Work with backend engineers to integrate trained models into production systems
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of inference services, leveraging feedback loops for continuous improvement
  • Partner with product to translate messy real-world data into useful signals that improve decision-making

About You

  • Strong foundation in Python and applied machine learning

  • Experience training supervised and/or self-supervised models

  • Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment workflows

  • Comfortable owning work end-to-end—from raw data to training to production inference

  • Pragmatic, curious, experimental, and motivated by shipping models that actually get used

Bonus Points

  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs or related embedding models
  • Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or similar framework
  • Experience with time-series forecasting, behavioral modeling, or graph-based learning
  • Background working with messy product data or analytics pipelines
  • Exposure to MLOps (e.g., model serving, evaluation tooling, data versioning)
