About the Position

The QA Engineer will be Turnstile's first line of defense for product quality — not just testing features in isolation, but deeply understanding how real customers use the product. This person will embed with the customer support and product team to learn real-world usage patterns, pain points, and failure modes, then translate that knowledge into test cases that reflect what actually breaks in production.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate closely with technical and customer support teams to validate fixes and ensure issues are fully resolved before release

  • Continuously evaluate product behavior to identify potential quality risks and recommend preventative testing strategies

  • Help maintain visibility into product quality trends by tracking recurring issues and communicating insights to the broader team

  • Flag recurring support issues that could be caught earlier in QA, and close that loop proactively

  • Build and maintain a library of test cases grounded in real customer use cases — not just spec-based scenarios

  • Contribute to improving QA processes, documentation standards, and testing workflows to support product reliability and scalability


About You

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong written communication skills — comfortable documenting findings clearly in English

  • Ability to independently generate test cases from a spec, user story, or real customer scenario

  • Ability to document and maintain test cases so they can be referenced and reused over time

  • Ability to file clear, detailed bug reports with precise, step-by-step reproduction instructions

  • Attention to detail — notices things others walk past

  • Customer empathy — genuinely cares about the end-user experience, not just whether a feature "technically works"

  • Curiosity — asks "why does this happen?" not just "what happened?"

  • Clear communicator — writes bug reports and reproduction steps that an engineer can follow without asking a single follow-up question

  • Collaborative — comfortable working cross-functionally with support, product, and engineering


Preferred Experience

  • Experience or exposure to SaaS products, billing, or subscription workflows

  • Prior experience in either customer support or QA

  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Linear, or similar)

  • Experience working in an agile environment
