Job Summary

The Group Chief Engineer has a dual role to oversee the maintenance plans and renovation projects at various hotels of the group. Ensure proper maintenance and repair of all building premises, fixtures, fitting, M&E plants, systems and plant equipment as well as technical improvements, preventive maintenance, safety standards, utilities consumption and control.

Responsibilities

  • Being the Department Head of Engineering at hotel level in HK and Shanghai.
  • Review the M&E designs and equipment specifications and make professional recommendations for the improvement of physical plant of hotels.
  • Coordinate and follow up with the main project contractors as appropriate.
  • Maintain all M&E layouts and other drawings for good record.
  • Familiar and safeguard operating manuals of all engineering facilities.
  • Ensure all major equipment and systems are under warranty or covered with maintenance contract.
  • Plan and organize preventive maintenance program to achieve cost efficiency and guests' satisfaction.
  • Establish functional policies/procedures and standards for the Group.
  • Review the annual maintenance budget of hotels including manpower budget and capital expenditures.
  • Take pro-active approach role in recommending cost savings in respective areas.
  • Comply with the local government policy on all engineering related matters.
  • Participate in the technical decisions in the project management process for new hotel developments and hotel renovations.
  • Review new engineering technologies and products to enhance hotel service quality and safety policies.
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as deemed by Management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering or equivalent with relevant professional qualifications.
  • 8 years or above relevant experience in hotel industry with 3 - 5 years in a management capacity.
  • Self-motivated, detail- minded, positive attitude, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong in leadership with good problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
