Job Summary

  • Support company retail worldwide network expansion, e.g., USA, Middle East, Asia, Japan, Europe, UK.
  • Manage new store openings with a 360o view.

Responsibilities

Concept Design

Initiate the store design phase:

  • Study & design floorplans, storefront and interior section, in line with company's store concept.
  • Select materials/finishes, in line with company's store concept.
  • Design or outsource 3D renderings.
  • Provide mood/sample boards when required.
  • Design new furniture/showcases when required.
  • Source new materials when required.

Construction Organization & Bid documentations

Initiate & take the lead on the Construction Organization:

  • Identify suitable general contractors/millworkers per project/region and implement a related responsibility schedule.
  • Identify suitable consultants & local architects per project/region to support you on the technical feasibility of the project, the administrative applications & building permits.
  • Implement a project organization chart (who does what?)

Initiate & Manage bid documentations:

  • Manage, review & comment in-house tender package drawings showing construction details for tenderers, landlord and construction.
  • Coordinate the tender drawings specifications with company's security, IT, and visual merchandising teams.
  • Manage, review & comments the Schedule of Rates (SOR) and contracts with company's QC team and ensure all is well reflected in the tender drawings.
  • Manage construction costs & contractor awards.
  • Initiate project key dates/miles stones.

Construction Mobilization & Management

Initiate the construction Mobilization phase:

  • Ensure long-lead items orders are processed in due course.
  • Review & Comment GC shop drawings and ensure all is in line with tender package drawings.
  • Review & comment construction schedule, ensure orders are delivered in due course and store opens on time.
  • Review & comment GC/Millworkers samples and mock-ups.

Manage the construction phase:

  • Attend e-site meetings, take the lead and ensure all decisions are in line with company's best interests.
  • Answer contractors RFIs & solve technical issues.
  • Be attentive to the functionality of the store and the lighting design.
  • Inspect the façade & furniture productions in factory.
  • Organise a construction pre-handover 15 days prior to store opening and implement a rectification punch-list.
  • Organise a smooth handover and ensure VM, jewellery, perfumes and flowers are all in place prior to the opening.

Requirements

  • Master degree in architecture, engineering, or design.
  • Minimum 10 years international working experience in design, luxury retail, or construction.
  • Able to handle building works from concept to handover.
  • Able to review/understand design & construction drawings.
  • Excellent skills in AutoCAD & Photoshop; Revit is a plus.
  • Like working in a family business environment, with smaller structure but where the individual matters.
