Job Summary

This role manages an engineering dept., correct, prevent, and eliminate on-going quality issues through analysis and subsequent actions to improve the capability of production equipment, jig and fixtures.

  • To ensure the development of manufacturing processes are delivered on time, at the budgeted cost with the highest engineering and quality standards.
  • To develop technical competence, projects deliveries, quality of works, technical advancement and capabilities of the company while ensures engineering work is aligned with quality system procedures and customer requirements, i.e., ISO-9001, ISO/IATF16949, ISO-14001, VDA 6.0, PSO, Full Run Test, Run@Rate, etc.
  • To expand the Engineering function to enable future transfers and new product introduction plans by means of upgrading technical know-how and introducing new technologies to the plant.

Responsibilities

  • To follow the APQP schedule to design the manufacturing method of new product with detailed planning of equipment, tooling, and gage by considering Customer Inputs, Design Inputs, DFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plan.
  • To verify and validate the capability and capacity of the planned equipment, tooling, and gage by studying the capability and capacity statistically.
  • To identify and specify the process characteristics by utilizing the technique of DOE to minimize the process variation and to optimize the process capability in turn. Those process characteristics should be documented by means of [Machine/Fabricated Tooling Setting Parameters Matrix].
  • To prepare [In-process Control Instructions] that describes the in-process specifications and sampling method for process that require in-process control.
  • NBO introduce and source plan preparation.
  • Manage the work of subordinates and plan for efficient operations.
  • For Continuous Process Improvement Project
  • Based on historical data, to identify possible area, in the manufacturing process, that can be improved, e.g., process capability improvement that exceed customers requirement, scrap reduction, mistake-proofing, etc.
  • To prioritize, plan, schedule and follow Process Improvement Project.
  • To utilize the E-A-I-R principle in the Process Improvement Project.
  • To reduce manufacturing processing cost.
  • For Corrective and Preventive Action Project
  • In the case of customer complaint or incapability of process, the Department Head, Manufacturing Engineering should lead the engineering team to participate in corrective and preventive action planning process, from the manufacturing point of view, together with other functions in the Company to workout effective solution.
  • To prepare Prioritized Reduction Plan to tackle the incapability of process.
  • To prepare Preventive Action Plan to prevent similar problem from happening.

Requirements

  • Graduated from government-authorized technical college with higher diploma or above.
  • Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Material Engineering or equivalent.
  • Min. 10 years experience in motor manufacturing industry with at least 5 years experience in supervisory level.
  • Hands on experience in the preparation of process control documents and Electronic Circuit Design is required.
  • 5-year experience in Quality System implementation, ISO/IATF16949 is preferred.
  • Hands on experience in FMEA is preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Acrobat, Project, ProE, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Electronic Circuit Design, electronic component and PLC, PCB and PCBA.
  • Excellent knowledge of motor production, process, manufacturing equipment, measuring instrument and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of draw technical drawing.
  • Excellent Knowledge of industry standard of specification and tolerance.
  • Excellent Knowledge of motor manufacturing equipment and tooling and their preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF16949, ISO9001 or ISO 14001 is preferred.
  • Familiar with industrial operation.
  • Statistical Analysis Techniques, e.g., ANOVA.
  • Problem Solving Techniques, e.g., Fishbone Diagram.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments is preferred.
  • Good communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Good written and spoken Chinese and English. Knowledge in Japanese.
