Associate (Derivatives)

Position Summary

We are looking for an Associate to work in our banking and finance team, with strong experience in derivatives, structured finance and/or digital assets. King & Wood is the only law firm ranked Band 1 in Chambers Greater China Guide for each of Derivatives, Securitisation and Fintech.

Excellent legal, analytical and communication skills are required. An ability to adapt to complicated transactions across jurisdictions/cultures and to identity and analyse complicated legal issues is required.

Qualifications & Knowledge

You will have:

• Qualified in Hong Kong or PRC and have 2+ post qualification legal experience, preferably gained within an international law firm;
• Experience in derivatives and structured product transactions and development of innovative structures
• Common Law JD or LLB degree with strong academic performance;
• Strong memo writing and contract drafting skills and legal research skills;
• An ability to coordinate multiple parties;
• Passion for the law and eager to learn new things;
• Attention to detail and responsible;
• Proactive and pragmatic;
• Fluent English and Mandarin language skills (written and verbal Mandarin communications skills required).
