About the job Director, Corporate Services
THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director, Corporate Services is a core member of the HKSI executive team with oversight and leadership responsibilities for the Corporate Services Division. The Director will be responsible for the following strategic objectives and associated tasks:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Corporate Services Division in fulfilling the mission of the HKSIL;
- Deliver professional advice to the Chief Executive and the Board of Directors in respect of corporate governance, financial/statutory matters and corporate processes;
- Formulate financial and operational parameters for the preparation of the Annual Plan and to exercise budgetary control over the company's operations;
- Formulate, implement and review the company's financial policies and to ensure their compliance;
- Formulate, implement and review Human Resources Policies (including recruitment, remuneration, manpower planning, staff training and performance appraisal, etc.) and to ensure proper matching to the company's human resources needs;
- Oversee the planning, development and management of facilities of the HKSIL in the provision of efficient and cost-effective facility support to the elite training function and operational needs of the company;
- Lead the IT function in the provision of advanced IT technologies to enhance operational efficiency;
- Enforce Procurement Policy to ensure the procurement (including tendering) processes are fair, open and "value for money";
- Oversee and manage the investment of a Trust Fund and provide advice to the Committee of Trustees on all matters (financial, administration, etc.) pertaining to the Trust Fund;
- Lead and oversee the Internal Audit function, and
- Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by the Chief Executive.
THE PERSON
An experienced senior executive, with a university degree and relevant professional qualifications; with a credible leadership track record of substantial years encompassing the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as business administration/finance/accounting and with relevant professional qualifications in finance/accounting/law or a related field;
- 15+ years of proven experience including leadership roles in corporate services (in areas of finance, HR, IT, facilities management, procurement, etc.);
- Deep understanding of corporate processes, policies, and best practices;
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading complex projects;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with Government officials, the Board of Directors, Committee Chairmen; and stakeholders including NSAs officials, statutory/internal auditors, lawyers, bankers, fund houses, and regulators, etc.;
- Strong leadership and people management abilities to inspire and motivate teams;
- Tech-savvy with the ability to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency;
- High level strategic thinking and planning skills;
- Problem-solving skills to address complex, multi-faceted challenges;
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines; and
- Fluency in Cantonese and English; knowledge of Putonghua will be an advantage.
