THE JOB
Reporting to the Director, High Performance Management, the Associate Director (High Performance Management) will be responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure the appropriate allocation, disbursement and monitoring of funding to all sports and athletes under the HKSILs system;
- Monitor the administration of the Elite Coaching Departments, facilitating appropriate compliance with funding requirements while ensuring that the needs of elite training are met in a timely and cost-effective manner;
- Lead and monitor the Direct Financial Support schemes for athletes, and various funding programmes for National Sports Associations under the HKSILs system;
- Lead the coordination of the HKSIL's stakeholder alignment and communication in all matters relating to high-performance support to all athletes and sports under the HKSILs system;
- Lead the collation of strategically analysed reports, and appropriate and timely submission of information, applications, and evaluation reports to the relevant policy bodies;
- Assist the Director in monitoring and reporting relevant performance outcomes to the Board and its relevant Committees, in line with the HKSIL's strategic direction and key performance indicators; and
- Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree in a sports-related discipline; a masters degree is preferred;
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in a leadership role in the sports sector;
- Excellent knowledge of sports administration and strong understanding of the local sports structure and systems;
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve organisational goals;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the sports sector, the Government, sports-related organisations and internal departments;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is preferred; and
- High level of computer literacy.
