Research Assistant

THE JOB

Reporting to the Medical Technologist, the Research Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist in biochemical testing and other duties in the laboratory;
• Operate instruments for body composition analysis;
• Assist in nutrition and biochemistry data collection, entry and analysis;
• Maintain the biochemical and nutrition data bank;
• Conduct statistical analysis of research projects;
• Assist in day to day operations in the Sports Nutrition and Monitoring Manager; and
• Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A university degree in sports science, sports medicine, nutrition or dietetics, or a relevant discipline;
• A minimum of six months' experience in research post;
• An understanding of elite sports performance would be an advantage;
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
• Good interpersonal and planning skills;
• Be able to work irregular hours and perform under pressure;
• Have good command of both English and Chinese. The ability to speak Putonghua is a definite advantage; and
• Awareness / Knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are added advantage.
