We are hiring an experienced Print Estimator with hands-on PrintSmith Vision estimating experience. The ideal candidate will create accurate and profitable quotes while maintaining consistent pricing across print jobs.

You should have strong knowledge of print production, materials, labor, finishing, and job costing, with the ability to price jobs accurately while protecting margins.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build accurate estimates in PrintSmith Vision for digital, offset, and large-format jobs, from simple reorders to complex multi-part projects.
  
• Review job specs, including quantity, size, stock, ink colors, finishing, and turnaround, and resolve missing details with sales or the customer before pricing.
  
• Calculate costs for paper, press time or clicks, prepress, bindery, finishing, labor, and shipping, then apply markups that protect margin.
  
• Request and compare outside vendor quotes for brokered or outsourced work, and build those costs into the final price.
  
• Prepare clear, professional quotes and meet turnaround times on both standard and rush requests.
  
• Convert approved estimates into jobs in PrintSmith Vision with complete, accurate specs for production.
  
• Keep pricing in PrintSmith Vision current, including stock costs, press rates, finishing charges, and price lists.
  
• Compare estimated versus actual costs on completed jobs and flag variances to sharpen future pricing.
  
• Suggest cost-saving alternatives, such as different stocks, sizes, ganged runs, or equipment, to fit a customer's budget.
  
• Track open quotes and support sales with revisions, requotes, and reorder pricing.
  
• Work closely with sales, customer service, prepress, and production over email, chat, and video calls to confirm specs and feasibility.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of print estimating experience in a commercial print, quick print, or sign shop.
  
• Hands-on PrintSmith Vision estimating experience is required, including building estimates, maintaining pricing, and converting estimates to jobs.
  
• Solid print production knowledge: paper stocks and weights, press sheet sizes, imposition and number-up, ink and color, and bindery and finishing.
  
• Strong math and Excel skills for calculating sheet yields, spoilage, square footage, labor time, and markups.
  
• Clear understanding of cost, markup, and margin, and how each pricing decision affects job profitability.
  
• Experience with other print MIS or estimating software is a plus.
  
• Excellent attention to detail; you double-check specs, quantities, and math before any quote goes out.
  
• Ability to handle a high volume of estimates and prioritize rush requests without losing accuracy.
  
• Clear written and spoken English for working with US-based sales staff and customers.
  
• Reliable high-speed internet, a dedicated workspace, and availability during US business hours.
  
• Degree or certificate in business, graphic communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience is welcome.
