Graphic Designer - Prepress (ZR - 466)
Job Description:
Horizon Tech is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Graphic Designer (Prepress) to prepare and optimize digital artwork for print production. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, an excellent eye for detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and optimize digital files for print production.
- Create and apply clipping masks, cut paths, bleeds, and finishing marks.
- Tile, layer, resize, and nest artwork while maintaining image resolution.
- Ensure accuracy in scaling graphics and measuring within scaled artwork.
- Proof and error-check files for resolution, bleeds, safety margins, and template constraints.
- Adjust designs for printer limitations and different print methods.
- Review and proof artwork on photos at scale for accuracy and clarity.
- Verify readability and adjust designs for cutting size constraints.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and production teams to clarify requirements and recommend adjustments.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy, consistency, and quality control.
- Manage multiple projects within tight timelines and firm deadlines.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate clearly via email or phone.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while remaining accountable for output quality.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop (required).
- Strong understanding of prepress processes and print production requirements.
- Experience with bleed, nesting, tiling, and cut path creation.
- Familiarity with various printing equipment, processes, and limitations.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Other Details
- Job Timings: Night shift following Canadian EST (Part-Time).
- Office location: Off to Shahrah-e-Faisal, PECHS, Karachi.
