Signage & Wrap Designer - (ZR-689)
Job Description:
Horizon Tech is looking for its clients, which is a growth-focused firm specializing in vehicle wraps, signs, banners, canvas prints, and large-format graphics. We deliver high-impact visual messaging that gives businesses the strongest possible return on their advertising investment — work we guarantee and stand behind.
We're hiring a Graphic Designer who is career-minded, dependable, and ready to grow into a leadership role. You may not have every skill yet, but if you have the drive to learn, lead, and innovate, we want to work with you. All collaboration, client contact, and project handoffs happen virtually.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design creative, innovative graphics for vehicle wraps, storefronts, signage, decals, and architectural/large-format projects.
- Work independently and with the team to produce high-quality creative on time, bringing client concepts to life through virtual collaboration.
- Provide clients with proofs based on open work orders; make revisions per client replies and interpret their true intent from their feedback.
- Follow up on proofs: check on receipt/approval within 24 hours of sending; follow up again every 48 hours up to one week.
- Adjust customer-provided artwork and manage any parent-company brand/display guidelines a client must follow.
- Update work orders with design details and install instructions; package all work-order documents and push them into production to ensure on-time delivery.
- Educate clients on acceptable vs. unacceptable art file and media types.
- Meet with clients virtually (video/phone) for art needs, ideas, and consultations on unique jobs — arriving prepared with research and examples pulled up in advance.
- Work from measurements and templates supplied by the client or field/production team to produce accurate artwork for install.
- Scale approved files to correct size, save print-ready files for various projects, and apply contour cuts to die-cut objects.
- Start, stop, and restart projects as daily priorities shift, refocusing quickly to keep work orders flowing through the art department.
- Manage your creative time and notify salespeople promptly if extra (billable) time is reasonably needed; stay on the Art Department schedule and alert team leaders as soon as you know you can't.
- Maintain steady communication with the Sales Department and your Art Team Leader on deadlines, timelines, file requirements, progress, and proof issues; report directly to the Art Team Leader.
- Communicate daily with sales on their projects you're handling, and copy the applicable salesperson on every email related to a work order or potential work order.
- Document KPIs for data and time tracking against work completed; keep the Art Calendar (Google Docs) updated with job completion/status notes.
- Contribute to brainstorming and creative problem-solving; suggest improvements to deadlines and workflows, and help increase the art department's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Organize project details so production fully understands the scope and how to produce it.
- Stay current on advertising/marketing and design trends (techniques, software, hardware), understand how trends have evolved, and recommend styles that better suit a client's company or product.
- Provide remote support for overflow phone calls and customer inquiries as needed (messages, etc.).
- Organize completed-job photos (provided by the production/field team) into portfolio folders.
QUALIFICATION:
- Experience in graphic design, with a portfolio showcasing creativity and a passion for branding (the portfolio is the most important part of your application).
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a genuine desire to support your team and clients.
- A willingness to learn and develop leadership skills, with the goal of growing into a lead designer role.
- Enthusiasm for working on large-scale graphics, wraps, or signage.
- Ability to manage deadlines and workflows in a fast-paced environment, with strong organization and documentation habits.
- Dependable, growth-focused, and self-motivated — a problem-solver who doesn't stop until the project is complete.
