Sales & Business Development Manager (ZR-732)
Job Description:
Horizon Tech is looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth in the US staffing market. This role owns the full sales lifecycle from strategy and pipeline generation to team management and client retention and requires someone who has already worked in US staffing/recruiting sales (contract staffing, direct hire, RPO, or MSP-driven business) and understands how staffing deals are won and serviced.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Team Management
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of sales reps/BDMs selling staffing services into the US market.
- Set individual and team targets (submittals, placements, GM targets, new logos) and track performance.
- Train the team on staffing sales fundamentals pitching, objection handling, negotiating bill rates/markups, closing MSAs.
Sales & BD Strategy
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for winning new staffing clients (contract, contract-to-hire, direct hire, RPO).
- Identify target verticals (IT, healthcare, light industrial, professional/admin, etc.) and build vertical-specific outreach plans.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients, from cold outreach through signed MSA.
Business Development
- Identify and qualify new client opportunities hiring managers, HR/Talent Acquisition leaders, procurement/VMS contacts.
- Build outbound pipeline via cold calling, LinkedIn, email sequences, staffing industry events/networking.
- Navigate MSP/VMS programs and direct client relationships to win preferred vendor status.
CRM & Sales Tools Management
- Manage CRM/ATS-integrated sales tracking (e.g., Bullhorn, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) for pipeline and reporting accuracy.
- Use ZoomInfo and similar tools for lead generation, org-chart mapping, and account targeting.
- Maintain clean data and produce regular pipeline/performance reports for leadership.
Sales Process Automation & AI Integration
- Identify opportunities to automate outreach, lead scoring, and follow-up sequences.
- Integrate AI tools into the sales workflow (AI sourcing/prospecting tools, email personalization, call intelligence, proposal generation).
- Evaluate and recommend new sales tech to improve efficiency and conversion rates.
Client Communication & Retention
- Own client relationships post-close ensure satisfaction with talent delivered, fill rates, and turnaround time.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients; identify opportunities to expand scope (new reqs, new departments, direct hire add-on).
- Act as escalation point for client issues, coordinating with recruiting/delivery teams to resolve quickly.
Discovery & Consultative Selling
- Lead discovery calls with prospective clients to understand hiring needs, volume, pain points, and current staffing partners.
- Translate client requirements into tailored staffing solutions/proposals (pricing models, SLAs, ramp plans).
- Work closely with the recruiting/delivery team to ensure commitments made in sales are deliverable.
Product/Service Knowledge
- Maintain deep knowledge of Horizon Tech's staffing service lines, pricing/markup structures, and competitive positioning.
- Keep the sales team updated on service capabilities, delivery timelines, and industry compliance requirements.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate closely with senior management on pipeline, forecasts, and strategic account planning.
- Liaise with recruiting/delivery and onboarding teams to ensure smooth client handoff and candidate delivery.
- Report regularly on sales performance, market feedback, and competitor activity.
Requirements:
- 3–6+ years of sales/business development experience specifically in the staffing/recruiting industry, selling into the US market.
- Proven experience selling contract staffing, contract-to-hire, direct hire, and/or RPO services.
- Experience navigating MSP/VMS programs and negotiating bill rates/markups/MSAs.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a staffing sales team.
- Hands-on experience with CRM/ATS platforms (Bullhorn or similar strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of ZoomInfo or similar prospecting/data enrichment tools.
- Familiarity with AI-powered sales tools and interest in automating sales workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong consultative/discovery-based selling skills specific to staffing (understanding client hiring pain points).
- Ability to work US business hours from a remote setup.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, comfortable working independently.
