Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team and help us deliver exceptional Indian cuisine to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Indian cuisine and be able to bring their own creativity and flair to our menu. This is a full-time position, with a competitive salary and opportunities for growth within the company.
Duties Include:
- Responsible for the preparation of dishes as per the menu and recipes.
- Ensuring that the meals are prepared as per the hygiene standards and served to the customers on time.
- Ensure staff always adhere to Occupational health and safety measures.
- Ensuring the seasoning and garnishing of food are done appropriately as well as ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant standards.
- Prepare and cook regional Indian dishes.
- Prepare and cook Indian bread and kebabs in Tandoor oven.
- Analysing and approximating the price for food and human resource.
- Menu designing and amending details in menu regarding prices, dishes whenever required as well as planning seasonal specials.
- Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Directing food preparation to meet any special dietary requirements of the customer.
- Managing stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality.
- Providing instructions to kitchen staff regarding the proper way of handling cooking equipment and demonstrating different cooking styles.
- Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food.
- Recruit, Train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices.
- Effectively deal and rectify with the issues for the smooth operations of the business.
- Costing menu items including costing of food and labour costs.
- Work to resolve kitchen issues, listen to feedback and seek solutions in conjunction with fellow staff.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate IV qualification is required.
- The candidate must have at least 2 years experience.
- Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
- To be energetic & motivated.
- Able to work under pressure.
Salary Package: $73,150 -$75,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
