Chef Indian Cuisine - Full Time

Singh Curry House is a well-established and highly rated Indian restaurant located in Kallangur QLD. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a Chef at Singh Curry House, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. You will work closely with our kitchen team to develop new menu items and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to our recipes and standards

- Ensure all food is cooked and presented to the highest quality and in a timely manner

- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering and restocking supplies as needed

- Train and supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation

- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials

- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following proper cleaning and sanitization procedures

- Managing stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality. Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.

- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations

- Costing menu items including costing of food and labour costs.

- Work to resolve kitchen issues, listen to feedback and seek solutions in conjunction with fellow staff.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef in a high-volume restaurant

- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Kitchen Management is required.

- Strong knowledge and experience in Indian cuisine

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Salary Package:

$73,500 - $76,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
