Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team at Indian Curry Hutt Restaurant. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking our traditional Indian dishes with precision and attention to detail. You will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes according to our recipes and standards

- Ensure all food is cooked and presented in a timely and consistent manner

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and hygiene standards

- Assist with menu planning and development, including creating new dishes and specials

- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring all necessary ingredients and supplies are available for service

- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to all food preparation and safety guidelines

- Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure smooth and efficient service

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations

- Continuously strive to improve and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction


Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook in a similar role, preferably in a busy restaurant environment

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

- Excellent time management skills

- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Valid food safety and hygiene certification


Contract Details:

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $73,000 to $78,000 per annum plus superannuation. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
