Position: Chef Indian Cuisine - Curry and Tandoor

Contract Details: Full-time

Curry Twist, Petrie is seeking a talented and experienced Chef specialising in Indian cuisine to join our team. As a full-time Chef, you will play a crucial role in creating and delivering delicious and authentic Indian dishes to our customers.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, and biryanis, according to traditional recipes and standards

- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely and efficient manner

- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed

- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they are following recipes and maintaining quality standards

- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials

- Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes by regularly tasting and adjusting seasonings as needed

- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including portion control and waste management

- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu items

- Assist with catering events and large orders as needed

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Chef specialising in Indian cuisine

- Minimum of Certifcate IV in Commercial Cookery equivalent qualification preferred

- Knowledge of Indian regional cuisine and cooking techniques

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

- Food safety and sanitation certification preferred

Salary Package: $73,500 -$75,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
