Location: Punjabi Palace Restaurant, South Brisbane, Qld
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare, season and cook food as directed or dietary requirement.
Follow standard recipe, presentation specifications (serving portioned food and garnishes) and examine food items to ensure quality.
Cook, serve and garnish menu items as per restaurant standard.
Can stocktake, order, receive and store the food items in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities (both perishable and non-perishable).
Assist senior chefs in planning and estimating seasonal menus and dishes.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently including tandoor oven.
Prepare, cook and serve different regional Indian food and curries.
Prepare and cook different breads and kebabs in tandoor oven.
Maintain food cost by portion control, reducing wastage.
Train other kitchen staff and new recruit.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of Certificate III in commercial cookery qualification is required.
The candidate must have at least 1 years experience.
Knowledge of different Indian regional cuisine is a must.
Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
Energetic & motivated and able to work under pressure.
Salary Package: $73,150 - 75,000 per year + Superannuation.
