Shalimar Mooloolaba, a renowned Indian restaurant in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, is seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef to join our talented kitchen team. If you have a deep love for traditional Indian flavors and culinary creativity, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and desserts.

• Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.

• Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

• Manage kitchen inventory and assist with ordering ingredients.

• Stay up-to-date with current trends in Indian cuisine and suggest innovative ideas to enhance the menu.

• Oversee food safety and hygiene standards in line with Australian regulations.

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a chef, preferably with a focus on Indian cuisine.

• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• High level of attention to detail, particularly in food presentation and cleanliness.

• Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.

• Minimum of at least 1 year of experience.

• Strong communication skills.

• Relevant qualifications (minimum of Certificate IV in Cookery or equivalent.
