We are known for our authentic and delicious Indian cuisine, excellent customer service, and welcoming atmosphere. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.

Position Overview:

As a Cook at Indian Curry Hutt, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, ensuring that they are of high quality and meet our restaurant's standards. You will work closely with our Chef, Restaurant Manager and kitchen team to create a memorable dining experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, and naan bread

- Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and meet our restaurant's standards

- Follow recipes and cooking techniques to maintain consistency and quality

- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and supplies

- Assist in menu planning and development

- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including apprentices and kitchen hands

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations

- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service

- Continuously strive to improve and innovate dishes to keep our menu fresh and exciting

Qualifications and Skills:

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

- Minimum of 12 months of experience working as a Cook in a busy kitchen

- Experience in cooking Indian cuisine is highly desirable

- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

- Strong communication and leadership skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious dishes

- Availability to work weekends and evenings as required

Contract Details:

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $72000 to $78000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer opportunities for career growth and development within our company.
