Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly organized and motivated Materials Coordinator Engineer to support utility construction and power delivery projects. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the planning, scheduling, and logistics of construction materials, equipment, and labor resources. The position is hybrid, based out of the local office at least 3 days per week.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and have experience in construction coordination or project management within the utilities sector, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to key infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings to identify required bills of materials.
  • Plan and schedule all construction labor and materials to meet performance goals.
  • Prepare and manage material work packages.
  • Create and maintain construction critical path schedules.
  • Forecast and manage material needs, lead times, and budgets.
  • Escalate and resolve project issues as necessary.
  • Provide onsite support for materials coordination as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement in construction processes and systems.
  • Ensure work order data is accurately governed and maintained.
  • Collaborate with project management and construction teams to ensure effective execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in construction coordination, material planning, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, techniques, and field logistics in the power or utility sector.
  • Proficient in construction scheduling and planning software.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and equipment lead times.
  • Ability to travel to job sites when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with major utility companies (especially in the Texas region).
  • Prior involvement in planning, operations, or maintenance projects.
  • Familiarity with regional utility project execution and material flow.
  • Strong project management skills and a track record of delivering results.
