Overview

The Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. This leadership role requires a highly organized and experienced registered nurse who can guide nursing teams, manage departmental workflows, and uphold excellence in patient outcomes and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate nursing care in the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units.

  • Ensure staff adherence to evidence-based practices, clinical protocols, and hospital policies.

  • Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvements for patient safety and satisfaction.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation within assigned units.

  • Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.

  • Participate in quality assurance, patient safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution (required).

  • Masters degree in Nursing or a related field (preferred).

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current California license (required).

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).

  • Basic EKG/Telemetry interpretation experience required, or completion of a Basic EKG course within six months of employment.

  • Two (2) years of recent department-specific experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting required.

  • Charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
