Production Tooling Technician
About the job Production Tooling Technician
Responsibilities:
- Safely install and remove molds from injection molding machines according to production schedules. This includes proper alignment and secure mounting of molds.
- Set up machines with proper parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time.
- Inspect molds and machines for wear, damage, or defects and report issues to maintenance or tooling departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of mold storage and work areas.
- Collaborate with process technicians and quality control to ensure product specifications are met.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures during mold changes and machine setups.
- Responsible for accurate and thorough documentation and data communication
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and capable of learning injection molding processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings, and setup sheets.
- Familiarity with overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mold handling equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy molds (up to 50 lbs or more with assistance).
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
