As the Nurse Director for the Critical Care Unit, you will oversee the departments full range of operations and services. This role may involve working closely with medical staff, updating and creating policies and procedures, and ensuring that nursing practices in CCU, PCU, Telemetry, AIC, and DHU align with established standards of care. You will also be responsible for identifying and addressing any ethical or legal concerns related to critical care. In addition, you will lead, manage, and coordinate high-quality nursing care, including the integration and oversight of patient care services.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

  • Ensures staffing levels meet hospital standards while maintaining adequate coverage with qualified personnel.
  • Sets goals and establishes standards, policies, and procedures for nursing care across Critical Care units (CCU, PCU, Telemetry, AIC, DHU).
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive records that reflect the care provided throughout the patients critical care stay.
  • Demonstrates strategic planning by preparing the annual budget and monitoring spending to stay within budget or provide rationale for variances.
  • Collaborates with medical and nursing staff to plan and implement performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
  • Works with staff, physicians, and vendors to assess and evaluate new equipment, products, and technologies.
  • Develops care protocols in partnership with Charge Nurses and frontline staff.
  • Holds monthly staff meetings focused on setting goals and encouraging shared decision-making.
  • Organizes in-service training sessions on new technologies, equipment, procedures, and supplies.
  • Plays an active role in recruiting and selecting new nursing team members.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Nursing program from an accredited institution; an Associate Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice and/or possess an active Compact RN license. Candidates eligible for licensure are also encouraged to apply.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, along with proven leadership experience, is required.
  • Prior experience in overseeing and managing an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within an acute care hospital setting is essential.

Benefits:

  • Yearly Compensation = $90,000 - $110,000 based on experience.
