Registered Nurses provide patient care by following the nursing process. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Nurses interact with patients and their families, maintaining professional nursing standards. They offer direct, individualized care, applying scientific nursing principles. Due to the wide range of medical conditions they encounter, Registered Nurses must be knowledgeable in various health conditions.

Registered Nurses are expected to participate in committees, surveys, and quality improvement initiatives. They are also required to adhere to the Texas Nurse Practice Act standards. Surgical Services Nurses are responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality patient care in the Operating Room, Gastroenterology lab, and other perioperative settings, across all patient groups.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Associates degree
  • Minimum Work Experience: No prior experience required
  • Willingness to Travel
  • Required Licenses/Certifications:
    • Registered Nurse
    • BLS certification (must be completed before patient contact)
    • ACLS certification (must be completed within 90 days of hire)
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be completed within 90 days of hire)
    • PALS or ENPC certification (must be completed within 6 months of hire)

Benefits:

  • Compensation = $40,000 - $75,000 based on years of experience
