About the job Renewables Substation Engineer
Primary Duties:
- Lead the design and execution of collector substation projects, with a focus on integrating renewable energy sources.
- Perform comprehensive engineering studies and calculations to ensure substation performance and dependability.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create project documentation, including technical specifications, schedules, and budget estimates.
- Handle the selection of equipment, create layout designs, and conduct technical assessments for substation components.
- Maintain adherence to applicable industry codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Offer expert technical support throughout the construction, testing, and commissioning stages of each project.
- Conduct on-site evaluations as needed to confirm project scope and verify proper execution.
- Keep current with emerging trends and developments in renewable energy and substation engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is mandatory
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in substation design and engineering, with at least one year focused on the generation side.
- Background working with engineering consulting firms rather than utility companies is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of renewable energy infrastructure and how it integrates with substation systems.
- Skilled in using engineering software tools relevant to substation design and analysis.
- Strong analytical thinking and a keen eye for detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well across teams.
- Must be self-motivated, capable of remote work, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Benefits:
- Yearly Compensation= $110,000 - $140,000 based on experience
