About the job Senior Hardware Engineer – Embedded Systems

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Digital Hardware Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of next-generation embedded digital hardware for Software Defined Radios (SDR) and related accessories. In this role, you will take ownership of the full hardware lifecycle—from high-level conceptual design to manufacturing and field deployment—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, reliable communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-Speed Digital Protocols: Design and integrate embedded microprocessors, ARM cores, DDR memory interfaces, and high-bandwidth USB and Ethernet.
  • Design Simulation & Analysis: Use tools such as LTSpice, HyperLynx, and MATLAB for circuit and system-level modeling.
  • Advanced Architecture & PCB Design: Lead full design cycles including requirement analysis, schematic capture (Mentor VX/Designer), and high-speed layout analysis.
  • Verification & Validation: Execute subsystem and system-level test plans using lab equipment to detect and resolve hardware defects.
  • Compliance & Reliability: Ensure designs meet MIL-STD-461 (EMI/EMC) and IPC standards for high-reliability environments.
  • Collaborate with software teams for embedded SW/VHDL integration and automation.
  • Apply systems thinking to optimize interactions between digital design, thermal management, and software latency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience (or 10+ years without a degree in Digital Design).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures and RF interactions.
  • Proficiency in embedded software, scripting (Python), or VHDL for design automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile PLM and configuration/lifecycle management tools.
  • Knowledge of Boundary Scan (JTAG) for high-density PCBA testing.
