About our client:

  • Our client is a well-established construction company with operations across Hong Kong, seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead their building construction projects (residential, schools, office buildings, and similar developments).
  • This is a senior leadership role with overall accountability for project delivery, business development, and team leadership in the competitive Hong Kong market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with major Hong Kong property developers, the Buildings Department, Development Bureau, consultant firms (architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers), and public utilities.
  • Oversee the management, renewal, and upgrading of the company's licenses and registrations required for construction operations in Hong Kong.
  • Direct and coordinate all aspects of project delivery including tendering, construction, commercial management, safety, technical matters, and subletting.
  • Take full responsibility for project performance, safety & compliance, cost control & profitability, regulatory requirements, and relationships with clients, consultants, and authorities.
  • Lead company-wide contract management, including main contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements. Conduct risk reviews and ensure compliance with NEC, FIDIC, and Hong Kong Standard Form of Building Contracts.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing local Hong Kong engineering and site management team. Handle recruitment, performance appraisal, training, and career development for senior executives and site personnel.
  • Foster cross-discipline collaboration across civil & structural, M&E, foundation, curtain wall, and other specialist teams.

Requirements:

  • Professional Qualifications (mandatory):
  • MHKIE (Chartered Engineer) and Registered Professional Engineer (RPE); or MCIOB, HKICM, HKIS or equivalent chartered membership in Hong Kong construction-related institutes.
  • Possession of Authorized Signatory (AS) and/or Technical Director (TD) status with the Buildings Department is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of full-cycle building construction management experience in main contractor roles, with at least 8 years at senior management level on Hong Kong local residential, institutional, or commercial building projects.
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering large-scale building projects in Hong Kong under tight regulatory and client requirements.
  • Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua).
