About the Company:

We are an Engineer Consulting Company that primarily provides service to clients in North America in the automotive industry. Our clients basically provide sheet metal stamped and assembled automotive parts to majors vehicle manufacturers such as Honda, Ford, Toyota, etc.

We are based in Lahore and work directly with international clients, giving the employees real exposure to North American engineering standards and work culture without leaving Pakistan.

Job description:

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in streamlining production processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English, to collaborate across various departments and improve the quality and productivity of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design and Optimization:

  1. Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products to improve production efficiency, quality, and operational consistency.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, reducing waste, and improving product quality.
  2. Apply lean manufacturing principles and best practices to drive operational improvements.

Documentation and Process Control:

Process Sheet Documentation: Create and maintain detailed process sheets, documenting all plant floor activities.

Process Sheet Improvement: Regularly update and revise process sheets to reflect process optimizations or improvements.

Bill of Materials (BOMs): Prepare, validate, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for parts and assemblies.

Routing BOMs: Update and manage Routing BOMs for all assemblies, ensuring accurate sequencing of manufacturing operations.

Plant Layout and Space Optimization:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design or modify plant layouts to accommodate new equipment, products, or production strategies.
  2. Optimize the plant floor space to enhance workflow, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall operational efficiency.
  3. Ensure smooth transitions during any changes in plant layout with minimal downtime and disruption to ongoing production.

Cycle Time Analysis and Efficiency Improvement:

  1. Conduct time and motion studies to assess and optimize production cycle times.
  2. Continuously monitor, analyze, and benchmark cycle times for various processes to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Use data-driven approaches to analyze production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions that enhance throughput and reduce inefficiencies.
  4. Evaluate operator tasks, ergonomics, and inspection activities to improve both safety and productivity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  1. Work closely with production, quality control, maintenance, and other departments to troubleshoot production issues, improve product consistency, and ensure manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality.

New Technology Integration:

  1. Evaluate and integrate advanced technologies to improve manufacturing processes, keeping the company at the forefront of industry innovations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering role, preferably within the automotive industry or a high-volume production environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software, manufacturing simulation tools and Microsoft Excel.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot complex production issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to create reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of work.

Additional Information:

  • Working Hours: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM PKT (Monday to Friday) to support our North American-based clients.
  • Salary: Market Competitive

  • Location: DHA phase 8, Lahore.
