We have a great career opportunity for an Environmental & Social Manager in an international leading renewable energy company with a representative office in Kyiv.

Our Partner initiates, plans and builds wind and solar projects worldwide. The Company is an independent power producer (IPP) that executes large-scale international projects as a general contractor and takes over technical and commercial management as an asset manager. In addition, our Partner has a technological competence and develops AI solutions for renewable energies.

We are currently looking for a skilled specialist who will be responsible for ensuring that all environmental and social requirements of the Wind Park Construction Project are implemented and monitored in line with Ukrainian legislation, the Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP), Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), and other relevant E&S polices and guidelines. This role will ensure compliance with EBRD Performance Requirements (PRs), IFC Performance Standards (PSs), EU legislation, and Good International Industry Practice (GIIP) throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Environmental & Social Management

  • Oversee implementation of the ESAP, ESMP, SEP, and other project-specific E&S plans
  • Ensure compliance with national environmental and social legislation, permits, and IFI requirements
  • Develop and maintain site-specific procedures to control E&S risks and impacts
  • Coordinate ecological and environmental mitigation measures
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with E&S requirements through induction, monitoring, and audits.

2. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Implement monitoring programmes required during construction process e.g. noise, biodiversity, and community safety
  • Collect, analyse, and report environmental and social performance data, including EBRD/IFC reports
  • Track progress on ESAP commitments and provide quarterly progress updates to lenders and management
  • Maintain incident/accident logs and ensure timely investigation and corrective actions

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Grievance Mechanism

  • Implement the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and ensure transparent communication with local communities, authorities, and NGOs
  • Operate and manage the grievance mechanism for communities and workers, ensuring timely resolution
  • Organise public consultations, disclosure activities, and information sharing sessions

4. Capacity Building & Supervision

  • Conduct E&S training for staff, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Build awareness on environment, and social issues within the workforce
  • Supervise Land manager and H&S specialist and coordinate with other Companyʼs staff

5. Compliance & Audit

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits of construction activities and contractor performance
  • Ensure timely corrective actions where non-conformances are identified
  • Support lender monitoring missions, independent E&S consultants, and national inspections

Qualifications and professional experience:

  • High school diploma (Degree in environmental science)
  • Proven experience in the relevant field (3+ years of experience)
  • Deep knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Familiar with IFC, EBRD requirements
  • Ukrainian Fluent, English Upper-Intermediate and above (B2+)
