COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:

Job Role

As a Finance Executive at our Electronic Money Institution (EMI), you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day financial operations, supporting digital payments infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with SBP regulations. This position offers exposure to a dynamic fintech environment with a focus on transaction-level financial accuracy, treasury operations, and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Accounting & Transaction Oversight Review and post daily accounting transactions related to wallet top-ups, merchant payments, card settlements, and customer refunds to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Tax Compliance & Payroll Processing Manage monthly payroll execution, ensure accurate calculation of payroll taxes, and oversee timely filing of income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax returns in coordination with tax advisors
  • SBP & Regulatory Reporting Support the preparation and submission of periodic reports required under SBPs EMI regulatory framework, including reporting of settlement accounts, reserves, and financial statements
  • Reconciliation & Treasury Operations Monitor and reconcile bank accounts daily, ensuring alignment with internal ledgers and payment gateway reports. Assist in treasury activities including cash forecasting and fund management across settlement and operational accounts
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management Maintain timely processing of vendor payments and merchant payouts. Monitor receivables, resolve discrepancies, and support collection workflows in collaboration with operations
  • Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with product, compliance, and operations teams to align financial processes with platform-level transaction flows and business requirements
  • ERP & Financial Systems Usage Utilize SAP or similar ERP systems to process journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and generate financial reports for decision-making and audit readiness
  • Audit Support & Documentation Prepare audit schedules, respond to external and internal audit queries, and ensure proper documentation of financial records and processes in line with compliance requirements

Education

  • Minimum 16 years of education, preferably, Masters from a renowned and HEC recognized university or institution/equivalent foreign degree holder institution, preferably in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • ACCA / CA (Finalist or Part Qualified) with sound accounting fundamentals would be a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position
  • Experience in banking, fintech, or financial institutions with a focus on digital payments and financial operations would be preferred

Key Requirements

  • Attention to Detail - Meticulous approach to document review and data handling, with the ability to detect red flags or inconsistencies
  • Analytical Accuracy - Proven ability to identify, trace, and resolve complex financial mismatches with precision and speed
  • Process Ownership & SLA Compliance - Self-starter with the ability to manage high-volume reconciliation workflows independently and meet strict operational deadlines
  • Cross-Functional Engagement - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external banking partners
  • Regulatory Knowledge - In-depth understanding of SBP regulations, tax laws, banking policies, and digital financial compliance frameworks
  • Taxation Knowledge - Proven expertise in handling corporate taxation, including sales tax, income tax, and withholding tax compliance
  • Treasury Operations - Familiarity with EMI treasury workflows such as daily settlement cycles, liquidity monitoring, and reserve management
  • Reporting Standards - Strong grasp of financial reporting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) and audit readiness practices
  • ERP Systems Proficiency - SAP experience highly preferred; ability to work with ERP systems for financial reporting, reconciliation, and transaction tracking

Age

  • The candidate should preferably be not more than 33 years of age as of last date of submission of application
