COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:
Job Role
The UI/UX Designer will craft intuitive, user-centric experiences for fintech digital products including mobile apps, dashboards, and payment interfaces. The ideal candidate has a strong design portfolio, deep understanding of design systems, and the ability to turn complex fintech flows into simple and engaging user journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business and product requirements into wireframes, user flows, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes
- Conduct user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability tests) to validate design decisions
- Develop and maintain a design system (component library, style guide) to ensure consistency across use cases and platforms
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-fidelity designs are implemented accurately
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, metrics (e.g., drop-off in wallet onboarding), and product goals
- Ensure designs meet accessibility, usability, and regulatory constraints (e.g., KYC flows, data protection)
- Advocate for user-centered design across the organization; present design choices and rationale to stakeholders
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably a Masters degree in Design, Graphic Design, or related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution.
Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position
- Prior experience in UI/UX design, ideally in fintech, payments, or a regulated environment
- Proven portfolio of mobile/web design work especially for financial products
Requirements
- Proficiency in design & prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, and information architecture
- Experience running user research and usability testing
- Excellent communication skills able to articulate design decisions to non-designers
- Problem-solving mindset, detail-oriented, and a bias toward iteration
Age
The candidate should preferably be not more than 33 years of age as of last date of submission of application.
