Experience Required:

Minimum 6-7 years in an industrial environment (preferably continuous-process or chemicals manufacturing) with strong hands-on technical skills.

Qualifications:

  • DAE / B. Tech (Mechanical) or equivalent technical qualification
  • 6-7 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience, preferably at a chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing site
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial mechanical equipment
  • Exposure to project execution or plant modification works is a plus

Role Summary:

The Maintenance & Projects Supervisor is responsible for executing day-to-day, routine, and planned mechanical maintenance activities while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role also supports small-to-medium plant modification and improvement projects, working closely with internal teams and contractors. The position is highly hands-on and requires strong technical expertise, troubleshooting capability, and the ability to lead technicians effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Execution & Planning

Carry out and supervise routine, preventive, and corrective mechanical maintenance activities as per the approved schedule.

Coordinate with operations and maintenance planners to ensure timely execution of short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance tasks.

Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and ensure rapid, safe, and effective resolution.

2. Compliance & Safety

Ensure strict compliance with Company HSE standards and engineering practices during all maintenance work.

Reinforce safety protocols within the team and participate in toolbox talks, audits, and safety trainings.

Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.

3. Projects & Plant Modifications

Support the planning and execution of plant modification, revamping, and reliability improvement projects.

Supervise contractors and ensure all project-related activities meet cost, quality, and timeline requirements.

Prepare work permits, verify job scopes, and ensure adherence to engineering standards.

4. Inventory & Cost Control

Monitor spare parts consumption, technical specifications, stock levels, and reorder requirements.

Coordinate with the store and procurement teams to maintain inventory within approved limits.

Provide input for budget preparation and control maintenance-related expenditures.

5. Team Supervision & Development

Lead and guide maintenance technicians, ensuring work quality, discipline, and productivity.

Provide hands-on coaching to build technical capability and enforce maintenance best practices.

Review job performance, identify skill gaps, and support team development initiatives.

6. Shutdowns, Overhauls & Special Maintenance

Assist in planning and execution of shutdown activities, equipment overhauls, and special maintenance tasks.

Ensure job completion as per defined scope, quality standards, and timelines.

Prepare reports and document findings for continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial plant

Expertise in troubleshooting pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, boilers, pipelines, valves, and rotating equipment

Working knowledge of maintenance planning tools, job safety analysis, and permit-to-work systems

Ability to supervise technicians and manage contractors

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals

Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills
