Location: Karachi
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or Cost Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in contract management or administration within the mining, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Extensive experience in the development and execution of EPC, D&C, BOO, and construction-only contracts.
- Strong familiarity with both head-office and site-based contract administration processes.
- Proven expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, claims management, and assessment of progress payments and variations.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, commercial practices, and industry-standard contracting frameworks.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial management skills.
- Proven ability to draft and interpret complex contract documents.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and contract management systems (highly desirable).
Responsibilities:
- Review the scope of work and contract conditions to prepare accurate, comprehensive tender packages.
- Coordinate the tendering process, including commercial and technical evaluations, with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct commercial and legal negotiations to ensure contractual terms align with company objectives and mitigate risks.
- Prepare contract award recommendations and business cases for management approval.
- Administer post-award contract activities, including managing claims, variations, and extensions of time.
- Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contractual, insurance, and security requirements.
- Maintain complete and organized records of all contract-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with policies, Delegation of Authority (DOA), legal standards, and internal procedures.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks in coordination with project teams and legal advisors.
- Support the prompt resolution of scheduling, performance, and contractual disputes.
- Review and approve monthly progress claims, prepare payment certificates, and manage contract budgets and forecasts.
- Track and control contract costs, ensuring alignment between purchase orders, invoices, and contracted scope.
- Conduct and lead regular progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders, ensuring minutes and actions are documented.
- Evaluate contractor performance based on defined KPIs and provide input for continuous improvement.
- Ensure contractors meet agreed timelines, deliverables, and quality standards in line with contract terms.
