Role Purpose

Lead and manage production operations across manufacturing plants to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives. The role is accountable for shop-floor execution, manpower performance, production stability, and management of major operational risks, while driving sustained improvements in productivity, capacity, and plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Execution & Operational Risk Management

  • Own end-to-end production performance across plants, ensuring achievement of volume, mix, and service level targets.
  • Lead disciplined execution of daily production plans, shift management, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Proactively manage major operational risks, including:
    • Production disruptions and line instability
    • Quality incidents and deviations
    • Safety incidents and near misses
    • Equipment and bottling line–level issues
  • Lead structured escalation, containment, and recovery during critical production incidents.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, EHS, and statutory requirements.

Plant & Team Performance Improvement

  • Lead plant and team performance improvement initiatives, including:
    • Productivity improvement
    • Capacity ramp-up and debottlenecking
    • Waste, yield, and rework reduction
  • Drive adherence to standard cycle times, changeover norms, and operating efficiencies.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly production reviews with fact-based decision-making.

People & Performance Management

  • Own production manpower planning, shift structures, skill deployment, and productivity discipline.
  • Lead performance evaluations, goal setting, coaching, and capability development for production teams.
  • Partner with HR & ER on hiring, onboarding, engagement, succession planning, and industrial relations.
  • Ensure critical role backups and strong frontline leadership bench strength.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure equipment availability and fast resolution of line issues.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Excellence on TPM execution, standardization, and continuous improvement rollout.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to align production plans with S&OP and inventory norms.
  • Interface with Quality to ensure right-first-time execution and audit readiness.

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree (Production / Mechanical / Electrical preferred)
  • 15–20+ years of experience in FMCG / Beverage production operations
  • Proven experience managing major operational risks and plant-level incidents
  • Strong track record in productivity improvement and capacity enhancement
  • Experience in high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Strong people leadership, execution rigor, and cross-functional coordination skills
