Job summary

To lead and manage the organizations end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, fleet management, warehousing, and distribution. The GM Logistics is responsible for ensuring cost-effective, safe, and timely movement of products using a blend of owned and third-party fleets, while driving digital transformation, regulatory HSE, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organizations logistics strategy to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely distribution of products across the supply chain.
  • Lead national logistics operations, including vehicle dispatch, route optimization, fleet utilization, and last-mile delivery to depots and retail outlets.
  • Ensure high service levels through performance KPIs such as DIFOT (Delivery In Full & On Time), turnaround time, and cost per delivery.
  • Oversee primary and secondary transportation, leveraging both company-owned and third-party fleets to meet service and capacity needs.
  • Build and maintain a reliable network of 3PL and transport contractors, ensuring availability, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Drive the digital transformation of logistics through real-time tracking, predictive planning, and automation using SAP and integrated platforms.
  • Ensure robust integration of SAP logistics modules and digital dashboards to enable visibility, analytics, and informed decision-making.
  • Monitor and control logistics budgets, focusing on cost optimization in areas such as fuel, fleet maintenance, freight charges, and warehousing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., OGRA), including accurate reporting, safety standards, and legal documentation.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System across all logistics operations, ensuring that both in-house teams and contractors adhere to safety standards
  • Conduct regular audits (e.g., Road Transport Safety audits), implement corrective actions, and proactively manage logistics-related risks.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with cartage unions to prevent disruptions and support smooth operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop logistics teams across regions, promoting a performance-driven and safety-conscious culture.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation across logistics functions to enhance service delivery and reduce costs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MS/MBA/BE from a recognized university
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a Oil & Gas industry, preferably an OMC.
  • Able to manage complex operations that are run 24/7
  • Proven experience with SAP logistics modules and logistics digitization initiatives
  • Strong understanding of fleet operations, transport safety, HSE, regulatory compliance, and carriage contractors management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multi-regional logistics networks
