About the job Know Your Customer (KYC) Analyst
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:
As a KYC Analyst, you will play a key role in conducting end-to-end customer due diligence for new and existing clients
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- KYC & Customer Due Diligence Execution - Perform KYC reviews for new and existing clients, ensuring compliance with SBP regulations and internal AML, CDD, and EDD guidelines
- Identity & Document Verification - Review and verify customer documentation using internal systems and third-party tools, including identity documents, business records, and beneficial ownership details
- Onboarding Workflow Monitoring - Track and manage customer onboarding queues to ensure prompt resolution of cases and a smooth user experience
- Discrepancy & Risk Escalation - Identify irregularities, incomplete files, or potentially suspicious information and escalate cases to Compliance and Risk teams for further review
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and Customer Support teams to resolve onboarding issues and enhance process efficiency
- Recordkeeping & Data Integrity - Maintain accurate documentation and ensure high data quality within the KYC platform for audit and regulatory purposes
- Regulatory Awareness & Process Improvement - Stay informed on relevant regulatory updates (e.g., AML, FATF, GDPR) and contribute to the evolution of internal KYC procedures and checklists
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably, Masters from a renowned and HEC recognized university or institution/equivalent foreign degree holder institution, in any/or combination of the disciplines.
Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization with at least 1-2 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position
- KYC & Onboarding Experience - 1-2 years of hands-on experience in KYC, AML, or customer onboarding functions, ideally within financial services or fintech environments
- Due Diligence Familiarity - Working knowledge of CDD and EDD processes, including customer risk scoring, document verification, and data validation
- Regulatory Framework Understanding - Awareness of applicable laws and guidelines such as AML/CFT, FATF recommendations, and data protection (GDPR/local equivalents)
- Tools & Systems Proficiency - Experience using KYC screening platforms, onboarding tools, and basic proficiency in Excel and other office productivity tools

- Time Management & Efficiency - Capable of managing multiple onboarding cases while maintaining quality and accuracy under tight deadlines
- Communication & Collaboration - Strong interpersonal and documentation skills with a team-oriented mindset and ability to interact with internal stakeholders
- Compliance Orientation - A strong sense of integrity and commitment to upholding regulatory standards and organizational risk policies
