Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in hotel rooms, public areas, and other designated areas within a hospitality establishment. They play a critical role in ensuring a comfortable and pleasant environment for guests by upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and tidy hotel rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing amenities.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including scrubbing toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
- Ensure all surfaces are wiped down and free of dust, dirt, and stains.
- Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.
- Stock and replenish towels, toiletries, and other guest amenities.
- Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, lobbies, stairways, and elevators.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in public areas and back-of-house spaces.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the appropriate department or supervisor.
- Follow established procedures for handling lost and found items.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals.
- Collaborate with other housekeeping staff to ensure timely completion of tasks and efficient use of resources.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or tasks as assigned by management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with guests and colleagues.
- Uphold the hotel's standards of cleanliness and guest service excellence.
- Work efficiently and independently to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a positive guest experience.
