Position: Airport Traffic Controller

Qualification: Minimum qualification in air traffic control training from a recognized institution.

Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience as an air traffic controller or in a related aviation role

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions under pressure.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to manage multiple aircraft and avoid potential conflicts.
  • Proficiency in using radar, radio communication, and other air traffic control equipment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in high-stress situations.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct aircraft during take-off, landing, and taxiing to ensure safe movement on the ground and in the air.
  • Communicate with pilots, providing clear instructions on altitude, direction, and speed to maintain safe aircraft separation.
  • Monitor and manage air traffic in the airport's airspace using radar, visual observation, and communication tools.
  • Coordinate with ground crew, emergency services, and other airport staff to ensure smooth and safe airport operations.
  • Issue clearances for landings and take-offs, coordinating with other air traffic controllers in adjacent sectors to ensure seamless traffic flow.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing pilots with critical instructions to avoid collisions or accidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of air traffic, including flight paths, times, and any deviations from planned routes.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety protocols, updating procedures as necessary.
  • Use radar and communication equipment to monitor aircraft locations and anticipate potential conflicts or issues.
  • Provide weather updates, runway conditions, and other critical information to pilots to assist with safe flight operations.
