Company Overview: Our Client, a Karachi based company seeks to appoint experienced professionals for the following role:
Job Role
Manage HSE matters by providing technical and administrative assistance / advice in HSE Decisions making process to ensure inculcation of HSE Culture within organization to the highest level. He/she will also provide support & assistance to the all-business functions through Audit, Training & Advisory process in building a collaborative and self-sustaining HSE culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Continually strive for improvement & development of HSE Management System across the company for creation of a proactive HSE culture
- Plan & conduct HSE Audits as per HSE Audit Plan / Scorecard Targets for companys Facilities (Installations, Depots, Aviation Stations, LPG Plants & LMTs, etc.) and Retail Outlets
- Support implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) across all operational locations ensuring robust HSE Audits, PHAs (such as: HAZOP, LOPA, Bow-Tie), MOCs & engineering design reviews, assist with continual risk reduction to ALARP & integrity of critical barriers. Including provision of technical and procedural guidance to sites in line with CCPS, OSHA-PSM, API, and NFPA international standards
- Strive for digitization in HSE Processes and its roll-out implementation by business units
- Stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of HSE in line with local & international standards to update HSE policies. systems and procedures accordingly
- Training & Mentoring of concerned stakeholders and by facilitating the HSE Learning Need Identification process. Conduct identified Learning sessions through external or internal resources as and when required
- Advice on Fire Fighting preparedness, including review of Fire Fighting Gap analysis and Emergency Response Plan at all facilities to safeguard People, Process and Plant
- Monitor HSE Audit Compliance and provide technical advisory & guidance to enhance HSE performance for companys facilities in the respective region. Stay abreast of current and emerging technical, international standards & codes such as API, NFPA, OSHA, ISO 45001 and regulatory requirements such as OGRA, EPA etc. to advice and guide on of policies and procedures accordingly
- Liaise with various Business Functions and other HSE Areas to enhance HSE Performance of the functions & zones
- Support Environmental Management & ESG initiatives across all company operations and having knowledge of relevant standards such as EPA, Global sustainability frameworks, decarbonization programs, GHG accounting & ESG reporting in line with national & international disclosure standards
- Support implementation of OH framework ensuring systematic control of workplace health hazards (chemical, physical, ergonomic & psychological), medical surveillance, fitness to work programs & employee well-being in line with ILO and other standards
- Lead/Conduct Incident Investigation as and when required to recommend action plan
- Periodically review and ensure KPI achievements of individual as well as at departmental level to ensure timely achievement of objectives at departmental & organization level
- Undertake any other task or function as maybe desired by the management
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education having an Engineering Degree and preferably Masters Degree from a renowned and HEC recognized university or institution/equivalent foreign degree holder institution.
Experience
- Minimum 6-8 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization among which 4-6 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position.
Requirements
- Ensure coordination between all stakeholders (Internal and External), from workers to senior management for promotion of a proactive HSE Culture
- Candidate must have strong Critical Thinking, Analytical Skills, Problem Solving mindset, Communication, sound Decision making & Interpersonal skills
- Formulate HSE policies, procedures and SOPs as per Business Requirement
- Resolve day to day operational and administrative problems pertaining to HSE by taking decisions as per LAM
