Job brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Sr Data Analyst to independently deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will leverage advanced SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools to create scalable reporting solutions, deliver impactful client presentations, and support long-term research and analytics initiatives.

You will work across business functions to interpret complex datasets, automate reporting processes, and identify performance trends. Your ability to translate raw data into meaningful insights will be key to enhancing our services and reinforcing our value proposition to clients.

This position also involves mentoring junior analysts, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and driving consistency in reporting standards and processes.

Responsibilities

    Data Management & Reporting

    • Write, review, and enhance SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

    • Develop and deploy automated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

    • Maintain reusable stored procedures and ensure alignment with departmental standards.

    • Optimize and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and executive summary tools using Power Query and advanced formulas.

    • Prepare and load datasets into data warehouses and related repositories for ongoing reporting needs.

    Client-Facing Analytics & Presentation

    • Develop client-facing slide decks that benchmark performance against industry standards and highlight actionable insights.

    • Use storytelling and visualization best practices to present complex data in a simple, compelling format.

    • Collaborate with business development and leadership teams to articulate the value of analytics-driven insights.

    Research & Innovation

    • Support long-term research projects focused on innovation in analytics, data visualization, and operational efficiency.

    • Customize research outputs based on stakeholder needs and business priorities.

    • Provide end-to-end analytical support across business groups, applying deep understanding of different functions.

    Project & Workflow Management

    • Independently manage analytics requests through the internal Report Request Queue, including scoping, execution, and 

      delivery.
    • Proactively address blockers or field-level issues in report 

      execution, escalating when needed.
    • Help manage the teams reporting workload and assignments when required.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Serve as an analytics advisor for internal teams, providing 

      guidance on reporting capabilities and optimization opportunities.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements for report enhancements or new solutions.
    • Conduct periodic assessments of data inefficiencies and workflow gaps, and propose practical solutions.

Requirements

    Education & Background

    • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

    Technical Proficiency

    • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including:

    Other Key Competencies

  • Writing complex queries using subqueries, joins, conditional logic, 

    indexing, and variable use
  • Adherence to clean and maintainable coding practices

  • Proficient in SSRS development (24 years of experience).

  • Advanced Excel skills, including:

    • PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF/IFS logic, array formulas, and

      dashboard creation
    • Power Query or Power Pivot a strong plus

  • Proven experience presenting analytics to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience mentoring or training junior analysts.

  • A user-first mindset when designing interfaces and reports.
