About the job Data Architect

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Data Architect with strong expertise in Azure Cloud to design and build scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions. You will play a key role in developing and enhancing a global data platform that supports high-volume transactional systems, big data, and complex analytics for the healthcare and benefits domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of data solutions using Azure services.
  • Develop and improve data lake architecture (data ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption).
  • Design scalable data models, schemas, and pipelines tailored to healthcare and benefits data.
  • Implement best practices for data governance and security using tools like Microsoft Purview.
  • Continuously assess and enhance existing data structures for better performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to align data architecture with business goals.
  • Contribute to the development of data architecture standards and roadmaps.
  • Guide and mentor team members to build technical expertise.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong experience in Azure data services:

    • Azure Data Factory
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Azure Databricks
    • Azure SQL Database
    • Azure Data Lake Storage
    • Microsoft Purview and related governance tools
  • Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of data security practices including encryption, masking, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with globally distributed teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with legal and compliance aspects of data usage.
  • Experience building flexible and high-performance reporting environments.
  • Strong understanding of system thinking and ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and present solutions effectively.
