About the job Sr. Network Observability Engineer
The Sr. Networking Observability Engineer SME is responsible for monitoring, managing, and optimizing cloud-based network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, maintaining observability tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee network management platforms and custom automations for efficient monitoring.
- Process customer requests with a service-oriented approach.
- Ensure expertise in fault management, configuration compliance, performance monitoring, and event dashboards.
- Work closely with network teams to document use cases and create implementation roadmaps.
- Enforce change management processes to ensure smooth deployments.
- Manage network technologies like SNMP, ICMP, API polling, netflow, and syslog ingestion.
- Maintain Linux systems for installs & updates and optimize IT network investments.
- Identify risks impacting project deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Strictly adhere to SLAs, demonstrating accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Grafana, Azure, Google, Oracle, and Observability Tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (advanced certifications like AWS, CCNP, Azure Solutions Architect are a plus).
- 4+ years of network monitoring experience, specializing in cloud networking & infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and load balancers.
- Proficiency in Azure, GCP, and cloud networking services.
- Strong grasp of network security, automation, IaC, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Git, CI/CD).
- Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing cloud network issues.
- Effective communication & collaboration with cross-functional teams.
