Sr. Network Observability Engineer
About the job Sr. Network Observability Engineer
Responsibilities:
- This role will operate in a product operating model fashion and include portions of design, implementation and support of our network management platforms and custom developed automations.
- Demonstrates a service-oriented approach in processing customer requirements and requests
- Familiar with common network management concepts: Fault management, Configuration management/compliance, Performance management, Events management dashboard
- Familiar with common network management technologies: SNMP, ICMP, API polling, netconf, netflow, syslog ingestion
- Familiar with common network scripting technologies: Python, Ansible, Git, CI/CD, IaaC
- Familiar with basic Linux administration: software installs and updates
- Work closely with our network teams to identify and document network management use cases
- Participate in planning sessions for design and creating roadmaps for implementations
- Ensure changes meet required standards and quality prior to deployment in the production environment to minimize the impact to the business
- Strictly follows the change management process
- Provides effective time management and work prioritization to meet target dates for activities and project tasks; identifies risks which may impact the ability to meet deliverables
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality work; seeks continuous Improvement for the betterment of the organization
- Accountable to the teams commitments, deliverables, and SLAs
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or any related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CCNP Cloud, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- 4+ years of experience in network monitoring, with a focus on cloud networking and infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, and load balancers.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, or GCP, including proficiency in cloud networking services and features.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices in a cloud environment.
- Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud network issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
