About the job Senior Accounting Associate
The Senior Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily finance operations to ensure accurate, complete, and timely accounting deliverables. This role covers key finance areas including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Audit, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting. The position provides functional leadership, ensures compliance with internal controls, and serves as the first point of escalation for operational accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Supervise billing, receipt application, collections, and monthly sales reporting.
Monitor collection performance and conduct weekly Cash Holding Limit analysis.
Review AR aging reports, account reconciliations, and exception items.
Accounts Payable (AP)
Oversee invoice processing and payment runs.
Review vendor Statements of Account (SOA) reconciliations.
Monitor GRNI aging and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
Review daily system reconciliations (e.g., Retek vs Oracle).
Sales Audit
Ensure timely completion of unposted or unreceived CSA files.
Review and resolve untallied or uncaptured POS exceptions.
Oversee cash completeness audits and validate audit results.
General Ledger (GL)
Review balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
Oversee daily bank reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items.
Support month-end and non-month-end closing activities.
Fixed Assets Management
- Review updates to the Fixed Assets Register, including asset additions, transfers, and disposals.
Ensure proper asset tagging, tracking, and monitoring controls are implemented.
Financial Reporting
Review P&L, KPI, SM, and other financial reports prior to submission.
Ensure financial reports are accurate and submitted on time in line with internal and external deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Must be a duly registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
3–5 years of relevant finance or accounting operations experience.
Prior experience in a senior associate or supervisory role is preferred.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms).
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
